- selling system
The items I sell can either be sold at a set price, at "auction" or are available for trade. The term auction is not really very accurate as the best priced offer (which I consider reasonnable) wins, but there is no time limit. Please e-mail me if you have any question before buying. If possible, please don't forget to include the item numbers with all communication!
Submit your items for sale!
If you are a private individual and Wailers collector, you can submit your listings of items for sale and trade for free! They have to be rare since since this website is aimed at collectors. In that case, send me a short description of the item, its condition, the price you want for it, pictures and your contact information. The website will only host the information about what you have for sale. Potential buyers / traders will get in touch with you directly. I am just a middleman and canít be held responsible for anything regarding the transactions. Please remember this is not a shop or ebay, so send a reasonnable amount of items, not hundreds.
I have tried to assess the condition of every item the best way I could, using the Record Collector / European grading guide:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler. As well as the above grades, Near Mint is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them.
For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - are also added to the grading. However, due to the quality of Jamaican pressings, sometimes a record won't play as good as it looks: unfortunately, there is nothing I can do with that and can't be held responsible. A record that sounds like it has surface abrasion doesn't necessarily have such physical abrasion. In other cases, a record will play better than it looks. For that reason, I have uploaded MP3 samples for each record, so right from the beginning you know what you are buying and can't be disappointed. Clicking on thumbnails will supersize the pictures.
Payments for my items may be made through paypal if you wish to use that service, but in that case you must add 5% to your total (including postage) to cover the PAYPAL fees that are charged.
